B1 – If the general population of youths were mature, knowledgeable, and aware of the impacts of politics, then I wouldn’t have problems with it. But with society as it is, I don’t think the majority are ready for that. They’re still trying to figure out their life, making them vulnerable and easy to manipulate.
B2 – 18

Freeform responses
B1 – No girls for me
Why or why not?
27 respondents, 29% (7) female, 71% (20) male, avg. age 28
Freeform responses
B1 – It’s a natural human instinct. Apes and other hominids do as well.
B2 – Because masturbating doesn’t involve a second person.
B3 – Considering the Bible speaks against spilling our seed upon the ground, I’d have to say that it’s wrong.
B4 – Cheating is only when someone who is not your significant other is involved.
B5 – There’s nothing wrong with self satisfaction.
B6 – In my opinion, if you need to relieve yourself and your partner is not there, you should just do it. If next time, your partner IS there, then go ahead with them. You probably masturbated before them, and you’re probably gonna do it after them. That’s just life.
B7 – Depends on who is envisioned while it takes place.
B8 – It doesn’t involve a third party.
B9 – Self pleasure. If they are unavailable or are unable to please your sexual need you need to do something to fill that need.
B10 – Because that’s wrong.
B11 – Masturbating is not bad.
B12 – Masturbation is self pleasure
B13 – No STDs can be passed and affection isn’t exchanged.
B14 – Cheating with who? You’re fucking right hand? (or left, no judgment) It’s ridiculous.
B15 – It’s healthy to masturbate while in a relationship. You should have a healthy relationship with yourself.
B16 – As long as you aren’t masturbating with another person, it’s completely natural to do it.
B17 – If your partner is not interested, it’s cool. If you’re avoiding sex with them, could be a problem.
B18 – Masturbating by themselves is def not cheating. Some people have a higher sex drive so masturbation can keep them from looking for others to have sex with.
B19 – Masturbating is normal.
B20 – I don’t understand how it would be cheating unless your gf and you made a rule about it and you’re keeping it a secret.
B21 – It’s not with someone else and it’s a personal thing.
B22 – It’s self pleasure. As long as I am thinking of them, it’s not cheating or introducing someone else into the equation of our relationship.
B23 – You are only getting yourself off that doesn’t involve another person.

If your hypothetical child came out as a part of the LGBT+ community, how would you respond?
361 respondents, 41% (148) female, 59% (213) male, avg. age 24
A1 – I’d support them unconditionally (62.9%)
A2 – I’d be a bit shocked, but I’d support them (16.9%)
A3 – I don’t know how I’d react (5.5%)
A4 – None of the above (5.5%)
A5 – I’d have to think about it (3.6%)
A6 – Skipped (1.9%)
A7 – I don’t think I could support mu child being LBGT+ (1.4%)
A8 – I would try to make them change their ways (1.4%)
A9 – I would disown them (0.6%)
A10 – I’d ignore them/pretend I didn’t hear (0.3%)
Freeform responses
B1 – Depends on how old they are really. If they are 10 and under than no of course I wouldn’t say that they know who they are, yet I’d support them, nonetheless. At 11 and above then that’s around the time when they start to actually realize these things
B2 – My reaction would depend of a lot of things. How old is he then for example?
B3 – I would ask them why they came out as LGBT and I wouldn’t support their decision, but I would still love them with my whole heart
B4 – I would never stop loving them
B5 – Depends. I don’t support “changing” genders but if my child was gay, I’d support them
B6 – I’d be wholly supportive of them, but the “community” is kind of toxic, and I don’t support them. I value the individual not the group.
B7 – Why the hell do I care about who my child likes to have sex with?
B8 – Sacrifice them to Christ of course
B9 -I’d do nothing. It is inconsequential to me. They can be whatever they want.
B10 – I don’t care
B11 – It depends
B12 – I’d disagree but I’d love them regardless
B13 – I would support them no matter what, I would just like to say it would be stupid not to, especially since I’m bi lmao
B14 – Depends on what part, I’d support the L G and the B
B15 – I’m LGBT myself (a gay transman), so I’d probably ask a bit about it but I’d still love my child and support them.
B16 – I’d go old yeller and take them out back.
B17 – I would day “bruh, you’re like 10 and you haven’t even been in a relationship how can you even say you’re gay”
B18 – I’d expect them to substantiate the foundation of the paradigm in which this is acceptable
B19 – I don’t have any kids
B20 – I would still accept them and love them for who they are, but I’d be disappointed if they radically modified themselves to become another gender.
Why did you choose your answer?
65 respondents, 41% (26) female, 59% (39) male, avg. age 34
Freeform responses
B1 – I don’t know how I’d feel by that time. My opinions might’ve changed by then
B2 – I don’t have a problem with people being who they want to be but at the same time I feel like if it were my own child it may be harder for me to accept.
B3 – Because I really don’t know how to react to that situation
B4 – I live in Ghana, and here basically everyone is against it, extremely violently. I don’t support that violence, and I think LGBTQ+ people deserve their rights, but I haven’t actually understood it, so I don’t know if I support it.
B5 – Being bi or gay is separate from being considerate of genetic makeup. A sex change or transfiguration would not be suitable for anyone considering.
B6 -It’s not natural
B7 -I’m a Jehovah witness so I can’t support LGBTQ in my religion it is not acceptable
B8 – There is a stigma that one should support their child regardless if they are LGBTQ+. It is blatantly wrong to just support it because its socially correct. I know when they would start feeling what they would if they are LGBT and know if it should be supported or not. But I’ll be damned if they start saying they identify as an attack helicopter or a bloody dog
B9 – I’d have to make sure they are serious about it. I’m not letting them try to be a part of a community that they are just pretending to be in for attention.
B10 -There wasn’t my answer in the choices
B11 – This is a way I was taught through family and through church
B12 – It’s a hypothetical… I can’t claim to know how I would react to something that has never occurred in all honesty. I disagree with the sexuality on a spiritual and personal level, however, I know I could never stop loving ANYONE, including a hypothetical child for that or almost any reason. Disagreeing with a lifestyle is nowhere near the same as hating ppl for living that way.
B13 – Unsure
B14 – I have to carry on my family name and I’m religious
B15 – Morals
B16 – Because I have issues with the tribalism and hatred within the LGBTQ+ community. I’ll decide whether I support an individual or not based on their actions and words.
B17 – I like to see my child as a reflection of me because she learns from me. However, she is not me and is able to be different.
B18 – God hates fags.
B19 – If it’s a boy they have no choice but to change. I can’t accept that. If it’s a girl you can be bi but not full lesbian.
B20 – Depends how they come out and how they are as a person
B21 – It doesn’t bother me any which way
B22 – As long as they’re grown and paying their own bill’s, they can fuck who they want
B23 – My kids aren’t old enough for me to think about that
B24 – I pressed it by accident
B25 – I don’t know
B26 – I’m a christian, and the bible says that LGBT+ is an abomination
B27 – I don’t understand it as I am not LBGTQ but I would want to learn and be able to understand so I can support them one way or another.
B28 – Because I have not been in that situation and no one could be honest in saying what they would do.
B29 – It’s not natural. It goes against basic biology
B30 – Every child is different, but I hope they wouldn’t have to come out to me. I hope they trust me enough to bring up their SO with no preamble
B31 – Lesbian people, Gay people, Bi people, Queer people I don’t mind, but it’s the T in LGBTQ+ that concerns me, statistically speaking, Trans people are more likely to commit suicide, and I don’t wanna increase that risk with my child.
B32 – Mental illness
B33 – The answer is between God and myself and my child. So whatever answers you need I don’t have.
B34 – Idk
B35 – I’m part of the LGBT community myself
B36 – It’s a hard life
B37 – They seem forceful with their views. If my child is at the adult age then fine, but in terms of what does go on, I dont want them to regret it as they grow up as some kids do.
B38 – It’s wrong
B39 – Because I believe you should keep your born gender
B40 – Cause I’m secretly gay
B41 – It’s important that they know why they believe what they believe
B42 – If they are a overall wonderful person, then sure, they have my support. However, if they are obnoxious about it, then I probably won’t support it.
B43 – It’s the truth
