Mei (pronounced ‘may’) develops novel applications combining AI with messaging tech to make communication more efficient and informed. 

Mei was founded in 2016 by Es Lee, with the belief that AI & technology could help people create deeper connections with each other.  Our team is primarily based in New York City, with developers around the world.   

We have consumer and enterprise offerings both as self-service applications and as bespoke development services.  Our products and services do not create new messaging channels, but rather add a layer of AI into channels people already use like SMS texting, messenger apps, emails and voice calls. 

Our first core product was the first default SMS texting app alternative (with RCS) on Android phones with an optional built-in AI that provides personalized advice using predictive AI.

Our current products have more of a generative AI focus.  The current core product is a self-service AI agent builder that makes it easy for anyone to create AI replicas or employees or services that can communicate like a person. 

We also offer proprietary AI consumer products (usually for free) that serve particular functions like therapy, coaching & companionship. 

Our services are limited only to businesses. We offer expert deployment & integration of AI agents on a consulting basis.  We also co-develop with select partners to custom develop proprietary AI applications on a contact basis.
